In all of my years in real estate, I’ve come to realize that a house is never just a house. It represents something much bigger—a dream, a purpose, and a life. The process of actually buying a house can feel overwhelming. Right? There are so many pieces in the real estate maze to understand. That’s why I start with the big picture. What do you want your life and community to feel like? From there, we work backwards to find a house—no, a home—that serves your life. Not the other way around.

Today, I work with buyers and sellers in the North Country to help them create their communities. I’m passionate about helping people like you figure out what you want out of life. That means considering ALL aspects of your home, including what’s outside of the four walls. As your real estate advisor, I promise I’ll listen to your goals and think with you holistically about what your life will look like. I also promise I'll explain the sometimes convoluted real estate process and stand by your side from start to finish.

The Creds

Kira has experience in hospitality and 8+ years in finance. She lives in the North Country with her family, dedicated to making this community as beautiful as possible. Kira specializes in residential real estate, working with both buyers and sellers.

Our Guiding Principles

This one is BIG for The Kira Witherwax Team. Not only is it our duty, but it is truly our honor, to advocate for our clients in many capacities. On the individual level, we will be there as your advocate from start to finish. Advising you on the best course, this includes the obvious help with negotiating price and terms on the contract, to timeline, personal property and home inspection. But details matter and we will have our eyes on all the moving parts. Maybe it would be helpful to get early occupancy so you can be in before the new school year. Or maybe you really don’t have a way to move the last bit of belongings and would love an offer that allowed you to leave them behind.

There many nuances of real estate and it goes well beyond price. We will make sure you have access to the information and the other professions we need to help get us to the finish line. We are solution driven and feel there’s almost always a way (if not multiple) to create an outcome that gets you where you want to be.

Will there be hiccups along the way? Almost always, but we have seen them before and will be your level-headed advocate by your side so that you can make the best possible decision for you. On a larger scale we advocate for our communities and private property rights, not only because it affects our business, but because we live in these same communities. We have a vested interested in having them be thriving, welcoming, amazing places to live.

I am incredibly fortunate to have the career I have. Every day I get to solve challenges, advocate for clients and build communities. I know few people have the chance to find this kind of joy and fulfillment in something they get paid to do.

Under all is the land. Upon its wise utilization and widely allocated ownership depend the survival and growth of free institutions and of our civilization. REALTORS® should recognize that the interests of the nation and its citizens require the highest and best use of the land and the widest distribution of land ownership. They require the creation of adequate housing, the building of functioning cities, the development of productive industries and farms, and the preservation of a healthful environment…

This is the beginning of our REALTOR® Code of Ethics. For me, reading the preamble to our Code brings up feelings of pride, responsibility, duty and purpose. It reminds me of why I am so passionate about helping others with their next home. It’s a way I can serve my community while being able to support my family. We offer professional advice to help guide people through one of the largest monetary transactions of their lives.

Being a steward of the American dream is a duty I don’t take lightly. The National Association of REALTORS® is the largest trade association in the US. Our real estate licenses are issued by the state which makes us licensed real estate salespersons, and a licensed associate real estate broker. But as part of the National Association we become REALTORS®, uniting us across the country, as we agree to work and live by our Code.

I’m always amazed by the connections we have, through relationships, shared experiences or dreams. In small towns, it seems to be even more true. How we live, work and interact with each other is so important. One way I stay connected to the industry as a whole is through volunteering at the state and national level. It allows me to be connected to real estate professionals across the country. This benefits our clients, not only because we have our hands on the pulse of the industry, but also because we end up with colleagues who send their buyers to our area to look.

Humans were made to be connected. We are not solitary beings. One of the many joys of this profession is fostering connection. Whether that’s’ through just learning about each other’s history or putting a client in touch with a neighbor that shares a dream or skillset. We strive to be your REALTOR® for life. You may only buy or sell 1 or 2 houses in your lifetime, but chances are you will have many more times where you have questions. Should I add a deck, what a 3rd bath will do to my value, who do I call about my star exemption, does the school offer Girl Scouts? We are connected to the communities we serve and hope you will reach out long after your closing with your real estate questions or when you just don’t know who to ask. We’re here.

When we’re working together, it’s important for us to know the whole story. The more you can share about your wants, needs, what your motivation is, what your budget is and why and what your goals are, the better we can assist you.
